Recent years have witnessed the growing, worldwide phenomenon of conserving the industrial heritage, due to the recognition of its cultural, architectural, community, urban and tourism value in the urban and rural space. Many structures such as factories, agricultural facilities, military buildings; transportation facilities like train stations, airports, terminals, port warehouses, bridges and railroads; and quarries, broadcast stations and other industrial facilities have finished their original function and are restored for renewed use.
